A few months ago, I was just browsing around on Facebook and saw this ad in my right pane about personalized items for kids. Since I have a two year old little boy, I just decided to give the site/page a once-over. I did and I didn’t stop looking!!! They had a whole range of stuff available that you could have personalized in whatever way you wanted from colour to motifs and even what you wanted to write! I kept coming back to the site a couple of times but I was wary of buying stuff online because of the fact that it might look good in a picture on the net but when I get the item, I might be disappointed as to the quality of the product. Finally, I realized I would never know until I tried it and I decided to pick one of the body cushions for my son. There was a train one and I knew my son would love it coz it had wheels so I went online and ordered it, I thought to myself, well, I will know in a week if I made a mistake! I knew sooner! I got my cushion in four days, I think, coz I was surprised I had gotten it so soon! And it was exactly as it was in the picture. Everything was as I had seen it on the site. I was so happy with the quality especially! I had placed it at the edge of my bed while my son was asleep and when he woke up, he saw it and he was so happy! It has been almost three months now that he has it but he still hasn’t gotten tired of reading out his name on it, or playing with it, using it like a tree or just something to lie down on for fun. Watching him play with it really makes me feel like I got my money’s worth!! 

About a personalized experience, I must say, Abha was excellent handling my every query. I needed another cushion exactly like the first for my nephew and even though the original design could only accommodate seven letters, Abha somehow made it possible to fit nine! And everything was still the same as the original!! Both the little guys have loads of fun fooling around on their train cushions and it is really a pleasure to watch them.

Featured Pipal: Mudita and Madhuakshi

This bedding order will always remind me of Google Chrome logo waala yellow! Yes, that's exactly what Mudita's specs were and I think the yellow is pretty close :) We did a quilt with coordinated curtains and cushions for Madhuakshi!


And, the sweetest part was Madhuakshi's call when her mom did up her room!

Madhuakshi is so delighted with her dream room, that even with running high temperature she cant stop running to her room every time somebody comes home to show it off. She is most happy with her name written on her stuff, I think it gives the kids a sense of things belonging just to them.

Featured Pipal: Garima and Sanskriti

It just so happened that I saw THE PIPAL ad on FB. It wasn't that colorful but the word customized caught my eye. I visited their FB page and checked the site. The products were amazing. Towels, bath wraps, sheets, cushions, quilts....and what not. Married to an army officer and getting posted to small towns and cities I always keep a stock of things, and this time too I had stocked them. So I tried controlling myself from going on this online shopping spree. Oh my God, I tell you, it was difficult as the products that THE PIPAL offered were so tempting. I couldn't resist myself for long and got in touch with Abha. And the result was a b'ful customized set of 3 cushions and a sheet for my daughter.

It was not that I only admired it, but my 2 yrs old daughter too showed her appreciation by telling me that the set had  flutterey (butterfly) and  baa (flower) and keeda (lady bugs). She carried her name cushion with her the whole day, I wondered if she actually knew that her name was embroidered on it. She simply loved it.

My first experience of shopping with THE PIPAL was good and I knew that I have found a perfect kind of place for shopping for my daughter and that too at my convenient time, sitting at home. My husband was happier than me because he knew that now I will not make him run from shop to shop in search of that desired color combination or theme, and he will get the best things for his Princess without getting bugged. :) The first purchase that I did from THE PIPAL spoke all about  the quality that was offered and the efforts that were put in.  For me in one word its wonderful. 

A friend of mine was visiting me when she saw Sanskriti's Animal zoo cushion and Lil cupcake cushion set. I could feel that "WOW" kinda feeling she had after looking at the stuff. And those wooden magnetic alphabets; Oh they are a hit. Sanskriti is fascinated with them and her friends find them interesting. I have put them on my refrigerator, so they are noticed by all the visitors. When one of my friend said that she too got magnetic alphabets for her daughter from some shop but these are more interesting , colorful and pretty; I actually felt like patting my back :).... (for the great choice and effortless shopping)

The latest addition to the treasure is the bright color Lil angel cushion. And now I am eagerly waiting for the bath robe with my angel's name on it. Well.... for me this is not the end of the shopping road which goes to THE PIPAL. Thanks Abha for making me feel like a Princess's mother, who has everything special.

What's stitching in September...

First of all, everybody waiting for the bedsheets will have to wait a little longer. We are sourcing some new fabrics as well as working on designs based on your feedback and comments. So, we are rescheduling the launch of the bedsheet range. Meanwhile, you can send in an email ([email protected]) if you want something specific or custom designed.


We are often asked about how to maintain appliques. Here are some things we recommend:

• First time dry clean if appliques are bright/dark colored. Most appliques are tested under ideal conditions and do not bleed color.
• Hand wash or machine wash on gentle cycle, thereafter.
• Do not soak for too long.
• If you see a thread coming off, please do not pull it. Instead, just snip it off with a pair of scissors.
• While drying do not wring too hard. For example, we have a foam insert in the butterfly wings which will not withstand wringing. Dry the butterfly poncho flat to maintain the shape of the wings.
• And finally, do not iron with a very hot iron. Either place a cotton fabric on top. Alternately, reverse and iron. This maintains the sheen of the corduroy appliques. When you give sheets etc to the neighbourhood dhobi, instruct him to iron on the reverse.

That's about it, I guess!

Featured Review: Mugdha Kalra

It's always nice to hear from our customers. Gives us feedback about what we need to improve and also encourages us to launch new products. Since most people leave reviews on Facebook or product pages on www.thepipal.com, not everybody gets to read them. So this is a step in that direction!


Our first featured Mommy is MUGDHA KALRA who has an adorable baby boy MADHAV.


Mugdha Kalra: When I chanced upon thepipal website i was actually amazed to see these products in India. Believe me, being a shopaholic I had scanned the entire market for baby products but had never seen such lovely personalised colorful accessories for kids. I had ordered a set of towels with my son's name on it and a set of three toiletry kits. The options in colors were all bright and the motifs were super cute. Even though my son is really young but when I read out his name on the towel he puts his lil fingers on the alphabets.

The towel set came in different sizes and so did the toiletry kit. I use the smallest to put his medicines and the other two for carrying other baby products such as body lotion, antimosquito wipes, hand sanitizer, nasal drops etc. The bottles are all standard size and they fit well in the kits. Every time I have taken out the kit from the baby bag I have had even strangers sitting in a coffee shop ask me where I bought it from. The products are unique and kids love the fact that they own it. Products from thepipal make for thoughtful gifting options too. I am hoping they introduce few more products because it seems soon I would have bought everything that they make.
